The meaning of education
1.2. Skimming: Read the first sentences of paragraphs 2 through 12 and fill in the blanks with words from the text.
When the author was in high school, education was described to her as a diploma a better job, more money, and a good life. Then, she went to college, but once there, found that her true love was American history. Her parents were passionate history buffs and the memories of their family trips were priceless to her. So she transferred to an American history major the following term and took English history classes as well. The author’s dream now is to give other children the experience of history coming to life.
1.3. Scanning: Read the text in detail and answer the following questions. Keep key words only.
