M ethods The relevant inform ation concern ing the construction of the projectw ere collected, and the endem ic situation of sch istosom iasis in 3 cities ( counties, d istricts) of the pro ject area in recent yearswas surveyed. Furtherm ore, the floater on theY angtze R iver near the inta e w as observed in field, and the boats carrying snailsw ere also surveyed in the field. R esults Therew ere fourm ajor ris s that cou ld give rise to snails spread in the project area, nam ely water diversion, water delivery, water supp ly and sh ipp ing.
