She plays the roles of “good wife” and “good woman”, acting obediently according to the mode of traditional women. Thus the main task of this paper is to analyze Linda Loman, in comparison with Yao Mulan, the main character of Moment in Peking. They are both typical traditional women in the patriarchal society. From the feminist point of view, the paper first discusses the similarities of the two female characters, the devotion to their husbands and the family. Then it analyzes the differences between Linda Loman and Yao Mulan, showing the contradictory subject positions of women in both family and society. In the next chapter, it gives a definition of traditional women, and exposes the fact of men’s oppression on women through merciless social rules. At the end of the paper, it points out the ways of removing the injustice between men and women, one of which is women’s assertion of their dignity and worth. Key Words: traditional women; the patriarchal society; oppression; feminism  摘 要 琳达·罗曼是亚瑟·米勒名剧《推销员之死》中的女主人公。她是一个值得关注的女性。在剧中，她始终扮演着“好妻子”、“好女人”的角色，自觉履行传统女性的规范和标准。这篇论文着重对琳达·罗曼和《京华烟云》的女主角姚木兰进行了对比分析。她们都是父权社会统治下的传统女性。 从一个女权主义者的角度出发，本文首先讨论了两位女主人公的相似之处，即她们对丈夫的顺从，对家庭的奉献。随后又深入分析了琳达·罗曼和姚木兰的不同之处，揭示了女性在家庭和社会中的角色冲突。紧接着，笔者给所谓的传统女性下了定义，并揭露了男性通过制定残忍的社会制度对女性进行压迫的本质。文章的最后指出了铲除男女不平等的根本途径，即女性对自身尊严和价值的认可。 关键词：传统女性; 父权社会; 压迫; 女权主义  Acknowledgements My deepest gratitude goes first and foremost to Dr. Liu Yongji
