And it has always been contested business. Its GDP was 450 billion CNY and GDP per capita was approximately 64,000 CNY as of 2009. In 2008, the citys annual average disposable income was 16,360 CNY. Wuhan has currently attracted about 50 French companies, representing over one third of French investment in China, and the highest level of French investment in any Chinese city. The rapid economic growth makes Wuhan become more and more predominate. Wuhans economy represents around 1% of Chinese economic activity, and is one of the most important industrial cities in China. So, what is Wuhan like in the future? Do you know the actual economic condition? 2 Economic forecast Wuhan is an important center for economy, trade, finance, transportation, information technology, and education in Central China. Its major industries includes optic-electronic, automobile manufacturing, steel manufacturing, new pharmaceutical sector, biology engineering, new materials industry and environmental protection. Total population of Wuhan (capital of Hubei Province) has grown from 7.6 million in 2001 to 8.3 million in 2007, representing a 9.2% growth over a period of six years. Each year, the GDP in Wuhan has a high growth rate. Nominal GDP has increased by 2.3 times from 134.8 RMB billion in 2001 to 314.2 RMB billion in 2007.
