台灣陸上二氧化碳地質封存潛能推估* * Potential Estimate of Geological Storage for CO Onshore Taiwan 2     M.T. Lu T.H. Hsiuan Y.J. Huang C.H. Fan The incr ease in CO2 em ission in Taiwan is so rapid that even if all planned means of mitigation were implemented the actual emission would far exceed the t arget emission . It is therefore necessary to develop effective CO2 capture and storage (CCS). Currently most of the CCS techniques are in an experimenting st age, either inadequ ate or too costly. Among these CCS techniques, the geological CO2 sequestration is considered technically and economically viable. Decades of underground storage exp er iences in the oil indu stry reveal that storing CO2 underground in sealed geologic formations is feasible and safe. The crucial element s of CO2 geological sequestration are two: cost and storing potential. The cost will decrease as the storage technology develop s, but , the stor ing potential is a gift of Mother Nature that is the key to CO2 mitigation in the future.
