The course will focus on the introduction of 12 principles of green chemistry and their applications in organic synthesis. It will cover topics such as green chemistry metrics, alternative solvents, organocatalysis, atom economy reactions, and alternative energy for organic synthesis. The green chemistry program developed at UMass Boston will also be highlighted. 二、教学目标 （一）学习目标 Green chemistry is one of the most active topics in chemistry. It has increasing impact on chemical research, chemical engineering and manufactory. Since itwas introduced 20 years ago, over 10,000research papersandover30monographershavebeenpublished,andmorethan10green chemistry journals have been launched. Dozens universities (including universities in China) have established center for green chemistry. In addition to research, green chemistry has been introduced to under graduated and graduate curriculum. This course will introduce 12 principles of green chemistry and theirapplication inorganic synthesis 1 to the students. Student will learn the history and also learn updated information on green chemistry research. Through understanding green chemistry concept and learning the techniques, students will have the knowledge and skills to apply green chemistry to their search projects and better prepared for their future jobs.
