A coupling coordination model is applied to explore the coordination development state between the two systems from 2006 to 2015 in Chaozhou City, a fast urban development city in Guangdong Province. The results showed that the development level of transport system and urban system have been increased greatly and their distance has been smaller in the past 10 years., urban transport has been an advanced model. The coupling coordination degree increased from 0.15 to 0.63, which indicated that the coordination state became better since 2006. Based on the coupling coordination degree, the coordination state can be divided into three periods. The first period was moderate disorder from 2006 to 2007 and coupling coordination degree was lower than 0.30. The transport system was better than urban development in this period. The second period was on the verge of disorder from 2008 to 2010 and coupling coordination degree was between 0.30 and 0.50. The t
