Organizational Behavior Self-Assessment Model Assignment Abstract A self-analysis based on forty-nine research-based instruments. These assessments have been designed to help me assess my knowledge, beliefs, feelings, and actions in regard to a number of organizationally related skills, abilities and interests. The assessments are self-scoring and automatically graded by the Self Assessment Library followed by a self-analysis based on my understanding of Organizational Behavior. Organizational Behavior and Leadership March 25, 2004 Professor Favara 003019 Organizational Behavior Self-Assessment Model Assignment The Chinese have a curse: “May you live in interesting times.” It is very clear, with all the changes happening around us, that change is a key ingredient impacting and shaping our behavior. And the change will be continuous for some time to come. According to Peter Drucker: “One thing is certain for developed countries—and probably the entire world: We face long years of profound changes. The changes are not primarily economic changes. They are not even primarily technological changes. They are changes in demographics, in politics, in philosophy and, above all, in world view.” (Drukker, 1999, p. 92) Facing long periods of transition are both physically and psychologically trying for everyone. There appear to be no anchors of much of what we do from choosing a career to working to managing others. Our management paradigms that seemed to serve us so well in the 20th century seem woefully inadequate in a digital age. And yet, if we accept the assertions of Charles Handy (1993) we might be able to take reassure in the following: Most variables remain constant over time. Most individuals do not override the influencing factors most of the time. Most interpretations will be valid for the future as well as the past.
