Guilin University of Technology, Guilin 541004, China） Abstract: Lijiang is an improtant river through Guilin City in the northeast of Guangxi Province, which called the upstream of Guijiang within Zhujiang Water System for short. Lijiang is not only a channel for traffic or delivery connecting with Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi Provinces, but also a water source, which is charged with many responsibilities such as industry water supply, agriculture irrigation and water demands of urban and rural inhabitants. In recent years, many of researches for Lijiang water quality, such as COD, pH and DO, providing a better basis. In this article, introducing the research status of river sediment contaminations and the hotspot of POPs (Persistence organic pollutions) and heavy metals, studying the relative theory of river healthiness and consulting many references of Lijiang hydrology and environment background, and confirming the researching contents and the question for resolve. This paper is discussing and analying the geochemistry characters of POPs and heavy metals from Lijiang river sediment, and evaluating the ecological risk of the pollutants, finding out the healthy degree of Lijiang entironment system primarily, in order to supply useful concepts for the river basin ecology sustainable development.
