With the great development of modern communications and information technology，digital information was explosive growth. In this process,data compression technology have been widely applied in various fields including scientific research，daily life and entertainment. As a main branch of data compression，the DCT（Discrete Cosine Transform）is regarded as one of the effective and efficient methods adopted in theoretical analysis. This paper is based on the DCT to study a small branch of the field of data compression ?Image CompressionImage compression encoding is one of the key techniques in modern multimedia and communication field. DCT has been widely used in image compression and other fields due to its good energy compaction property and fast computation. In recent years, research on DCT analysis and processing operation has been very active.
