陕西当代文学作品英译现状及对策研究 Translation of Contemporary Shaanxi Literary Works into English: Status quo and Responsive Strategies 王小燕 西安外国语大学 248798198@, 陕西省西安市长安区文苑南路1 号西安外国语大学69 号信箱，710128 摘 要：本研究重点关注了当代陕西文学作品英译的现状，通过分析调查其面临的文本难度 大、译者人数稀少、翻译生态环境恶劣等现状，指出当代陕西文学作品英译现状已经到了岌 岌可危的境地。而其中，恶劣的翻译生态环境，是造成当代陕西文学作品英译面临困境的根 本原因。在此基础上，本研究提出了相应的文本策略，译者培养策略，以及翻译生态环境策 略，希望从根本上解决制约陕西当代文学作品英译的瓶颈，推动优秀陕西文学作品的英译工 作，使陕西文学作品、陕西文化走向世界，提高陕西省在国际交流中的文化软实力。 关键词：当代陕西文学作品英译，文学翻译，文学翻译生态环境 Abstract This research reveals that the English translation activity of literary works written by contemporary Shaanxi writers is greatly endangered due to the difficulties posed by the source texts, scare number of translators engaged in the practice and the extremely unfavorable eco-environment for literary translation of the Province. Through analyzing these constraining factors, the author points out that the hostile eco-environment—that is, inadequate policy guidance, inefficient institution and the shortage of fund—is the most deep-rooted one that has drained the translation activity, impairing both the enthusiasm of literary translators as well as that of the training of qualified literary translation practitioners. Based on the analysis, the author proposes some systematic responsive strategies that are hoped to up-root those constraining factors comprehensively in text-processing, literary translator training and government initiated policy-building. It is also hoped that the proposed strategies will not only better the eco-environment of the translation, prompt the presence of contemporary Shaanxi literary works in the English world, but also enhance the soft power of the Province in its social, economic and cultural exchanges with the English speaking countries.
