Chapter Two Discrimination against the Jews 从狄更斯的生活经历、社会背景以及狄更斯本身的阶级性等方面来剖析导致狄更斯局限性的原因。This thesis mainly focuses on analyzing Dickens limitations and explaining the causes of his limitations. 内容提要::就《雾都孤儿》一书中所揭露的社会犯罪现象而言,狄更斯并不是严格按照现实主义所强调的真实性原则来反映,而是从种族主义立场出发认为犹太人“人种”生来就带有恶魔般的品性,不应该属于人类文明社会中一员的偏见传统。本文拟就狄更斯在《雾都孤儿》中对犹太人费金的刻画、描写中分析和探讨狄更斯在作品中表现出来的反犹主义倾向。 Content abstract :In terms of revealing the in the book , Dickens is not in accordance with the authenticity principle strictly as what the realism emphasize to reflect that the social crime phenomenon ,but from the racism standpoint ,he think that the jews race was born with a demonic character,and they should not belong to a member of the civilization of human society. This chapter aims at analyzes and discusses the Anti -semitism tendency of Dickens. 反犹主义(( Anti -semitism))一词,作为一个专用术语出现的时间不过100多年。但是在信仰基督教的欧洲各民族中,与鄙夷、厌恶、憎恨、仇视,甚至要将犹太人斩尽杀绝等民族情绪联系在一起的反犹主义思想却可追溯到上古时代,并在以后漫长岁月中逐渐演变成一种集体无意识:他们邪恶、丑陋、吝啬、贪婪,是一生来就具有“恶魔般的品性的盘算周密的异教徒”(塞尔茨塞尔茨 365365),这是非犹太社区民众对犹太人的一般看法。而且,他们还认为让这样的一些人活在非犹太人的社会,可以说会对整个的社会道德和精神健康构成严重的威胁。可以说,犹太人因固守本民族的宗教信仰、拒绝被占统治地位的宗教所同化而一次次惨遭杀戮的历史,不但使他们在现实生活里备感艰辛与压抑,,就是在文学作品中,他们的形象也常因受到概念化影响而遭到扭曲。 Anti-semitism (to preview the-semitism)) , , it appears no more than 100 years as a term word .
