(2) cost的主语必须是物或事，表示“费用、耗费” 例：The experiment cost him two years of work. (3) take表示“花费”时，主语一般是一件事，但有时主语也可以是人 例：It took me ten minutes to walk to the post office. The producer took two years to make the film. (4) pay的基本意思是“支付”，作为及物动词，宾语可以是“人”或“钱” 例：He paid the taxi and hurried home. They had to pay two hundred yuan before leaving the place. We’ll pay you in a few days. (5) pay for的宾语为“物”或“事”，for常常表示支付的原因 例：You’ll have to pay me 70 yuan a week for your meals. 注意下面两句中pay for的意义不同： 例：Of course we have to pay for what we buy. Don’t worry about money; I’ll pay for you. 2. in space和in the space (1) in space 例：There are many different kinds of stars in space. (2) in the space 例：We can put nothing in the space between these two desks. 3. act 例：He ran into the burning house and saved the child. That was really a brave act. action 例：Action speaks louder than words. activity 例：Most boys like outdoor activities. active 例：She’s taking an active part in school affairs. actively 例：He worked actively on the wall newspaper. 4. relationship 例：He has a good relationship with his students. relative 例：Billy is a near relative of mine.
