Implications for practice Shared Governance- the Impetus for Change from a UK Perspective Shared Governance can be described as ‘a way to provide leadership in which staff members contribute to decisions that affect the quality of their work’ (Saylor 2007, p1). Overview Shared Governance Framework in Primary Care Trust Professional Executive Committee (PEC) Professional Practice Council (PPC) Evidence into Practice’ Council (EIPC) The PEC confers authority via a councillor model of Shared Governance to empower practitioners. The EIPC in particular is responsible for guiding practitioners to develop evidence based practice by supporting them through the ten stages of a Developing Practice Framework Purpose of Event To facilitate communication between shared governance councils and other individuals.
