NHS临床指南 A positive and proactive workforce
As Dave Atkinson and potentially Ian Hulett are presenting at the same event I expect we won’t need to cover the DH guidance or the positive and safe programme in much detail * DH guidance and SFC / SFH guide Six shared key principles ( expect Dave / Ian to have covered these) Services must comply with the European Convention on Human Rights at all times. Understanding people’s behaviour allows us to see their unique needs and strengths and to help them improve their quality of life. It’s essential to involve people with care and support needs and their families, carers and advocates, wherever practicable, if the person wishes. People must be treated with compassion, dignity and kindness. Social care and health services must support people to balance safety from harm with freedom of choice. We must protect positive relationships between the people who deliver services and the people they support. * Our guide sits alongside other current / recent resources * And there is a wider range of current activities to produce new resources / approaches / materials. An interactive version of this diagram is available on our website so that people can connect to these projects * These are projects that are currently working / on-going relevant to specific groups or situations * The DH Guidance is ‘restrictive interventions’ – deliberate actions to take immediate control of a dangerous situation. Ours is about “restrictive practices” Examples of using RP positively might be restricting a person with diabetes and memory loss to an agreed portion of jam per day or using an electronic tracker when a person with dementia goes out unaccompanied, or dressing ulcers on the legs of a woman who is resisting that treatment – still proportionate to the risk of harm but more long term. Example of ‘accidental’ RP would be if other people couldn’t access the kitchen because it was locked for one person or someone moves a person’s walking frame away from them to clean and forgets to repla
