The founder of stylistics: Charles Bally, the student of Saussure, is the most influential linguist in the first generation in Geneva School which was founded by Saussure. Charles Bally (4 February 1865, Geneva – 10 April 1947) was a French linguist from the Geneva School. Bally is an expert in French lexicon and stylistics.
