In order to help him walk out of the shadow of sadness, his friends ,WeiHan and Wang Shouchang , invited him to translate together . After thinking twice , he agreed . Finally , his first work , The lady of the Camellias (茶花女) was widely accepted by people , and it was this that made him start to translate. What surprised us most was that LinShu have never learnt any foreign languages before . He listened to others and write it down in literary Chinese. Thanks to his good command of his deep knowledge of literature, he translated fast . It is normal that he finished the time translator stopped . INTRODUCTION He collaborated with others to translate eventually more than 170 titles, mostly novels, from English or French into Literary Chinese.
