Jianjing Jiang, Ruiwu Zhang, Tsinghua University Summary ： In order to fulfill the enormous construction demands national wide, especially raised by the entering of WTO, hosting of 2008 Beijing Olympic Game and the gigantic Western China Development project, the construction industry of China as a whole is under tremendous pressure to upgrade its technology level in terms of information management. In this article, a suite of construction IT solutions that is specifically tailored for the requirements of Chinese construction industry is introduced. The suite of solutions, including an online construction project management website, VHB™, a drawing management application VHDrawings™ and a building materials quantification application VHStation™ have incorporated engineering expertise, modern management concepts and artificial intelligent techniques to form a secure, real-time and interactive information management system.
