It is just like training an animal to do things. 2)It is first put forward by Skinner. 2. result: the audio-lingual method (视听教学法) Language is learned by constant repetition and the reinforcement of the teacher. Cognitive theory(认知主义): 1. emphasis: 1) In language learning , learners should be asked to think rather than simply repeat. With the knowledge of grammatical rules, they are able to produce language. 2) It is Noam Chomsky’s opposition to Skinner’s behaviorist theory.
