Learn to how to ask and answer where the people live.

Vocabularies: the words of the countries and the cities (Canada, the United States, Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Japan,) , pen pal
Sentences: Where is your pen pal from? He/She is from….
Where does he /she live? He/She lives in…..

Step 1
Warming
up 1. Divide the students into our groups. Their final scores will up to their activity stars.
2. T: What did you do in the winter holiday? Collect different answers from the students. Share some interesting things about the teacher’s winter holiday. 1. Pay attention to the class.
2. Answer the teacher’s questions.
Step 2
Presentation 1. T: During the winter holiday, I made some pen pals from different countries on internet. Present “pen pal” on the blackboard. Ask students “Do you have a pen pal?”(Yes/No) they may not know what is pen pal, so I will explain to them. Then show them some photos of my pen pals and let the students guess what countries they are from, they can speak in Chinese. Then teach the names of the countries in English and show them the map.
2. After learning the names of the countries with the map, show the different flags and let students say the names again with the sentence structure of “He/She is from….” Put their heart in the class.
Combine those counties with their maps and flags.
