Development History of Chinese Catering At present, Chinese catering industry has stepped into a new stage which represents the characters of the pluralism of investment subject, diversification of operating forms, chaining of management pattern and industrialization of industry growth. Development History of Chinese Catering The growth rate of total sales revenue in 2007 is up to 19.4%, which drives the total retail sales of consumer goods increasing by 2.6%. It is estimated by the Department of Commerce that in the half year of 2008, the national accommodation and catering market keeps a high growth rate. Its retailing sales has reached to 720.7 billion RMB, increasing 24%, which grew by 6.2 percentage point compared with last year. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is still playing an import role of driving the catering after the Olympic stage.
