Th is paper invest igates the differences betw een the far fie ld and near-fau lt ground m otion s b ased on m ot ion am pl-i
tude, am p litude ratios ( V /A, D /V ) , Fourier am plitude sp ectra and respon se sp ectra. By m eans o f mode ls of smi -
plified pu lses w ith d ifferen t ph ases and c irc le num bers, ana ly tica l expression s are derived to fit the observation s of
