Information Communication Mechanism in E-Government CAI Yun-juan School of Humanities and Social Science University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, P.R.China, 610054 Abstract Information Communication is a crucial element for government to regulate society and provide public service. Based on the discussion of disadvantages of traditional government information communication mechanism, this paper analyses the information communication mechanism and its characteristics in e-government using a simple model and an extended model, and points out what we must pay attention to in the practice of e-government. The results can provide some references to academic research and practical activities of e-government. Key words e-government, information communication, mechanism, public service 1 Introduction Currently the administrative function of government changes from management type to management and service type, the government will accommodate the national economy and manage social public affairs indirectly according to the appropriate policies, programs, law, and development plans, in ways of programming, planning as a whole, harmonising, providing service and supervising etc. It is no doubt that this change will make government more dependent on a great deal of information to make various decisions. On the other hand, government will also produce more and more government information about national economy and social public business management. So the government must provide information and get them transmitted and on the move in government organization, each unit in government can communicate their thought and eliminate impediment, then they can unify the understanding and the activity. At the same time, for the purpose of serving the community, the government can build a channel of information communication with the public who are outside of the government.
