Study on the Sustainable Development of Natural Resourcesand Strategy Selection of Transportation in China 1.ZHANG Qi( 2.YANG Hao School of Traffic and Transportation, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, P.R.China, 100044 Abstract The rapid development of transportation has caused many negative impacts on natural resources and environment sustainability. Different transportation model has different affection to different degree. The paper analyzes the tech-economic specialties of different transportation and via affection on natural resources first. Then the paper analyzes the impact on transportation caused by natural resources exploitation. Basing on these above, the paper puts the strategies both of natural resources sustainable exploitation and transportation sustainable development. Key words natural resources; transportation; sustainable development; strategy 1 Introduction In 1980s’, sustainable development was put forward as a worldwide problem, which related greatly to the long-term development of human society. Sustainable development strategy is a plan or action in many principles, which is aiming to improve and protect the life of human being and its eco-biological system. It is an important way for a region, a nation, even the whole world to achieve the sustainable development in society, economic, eco-biology, as well as the environment Natural resources exploitation is a very important aspect of sustainable development. After being an independent material productive department, transportation has been putting a severe impact on natural resource during its process of production. According to the United Nations’ definition, natural resources is a comprehensive name of natural environmental factors, which can produce economic value to improve the present and future benefit of human beings, within a specific period. Correspondingly, transportation resource is the material bases, including the natural resources, capital resources and human resources,
