China is a country with various cultures, and education culture a controversial issue all the time. there are many opinions about the education way. There are two main different ways in China: traditional and modern. In order to find out students’ attitudes toward the two ways, we launched this investigation. I designed two questions in this research, the first is what’s your attitude toward the old-saying: “Talented person are born from the sticks”? A: Totally approve B: Approve C: Disapprove D: Totally disapprove Male’s answers Female’s answers We can see from the above pictures that the male college students who in favor of(46.0%) or disapprove (54.0%) it are almost the same. And for females, many of them are disapprove(66.7%) this classical old-saying. And 33.3%of the girls are in favor of this opinion for females more love their kids in physical, so they don’t want their children suffer from bodies punishment, what we call them “loving mother”. But to males, they think that kids should be trained, not spoiled, what we call them “strict father”. Besides, there are 54% of the males think physical punishment is unreasonable. The next question is “which way do you prefer when bring up your children one day you become the parents in the future”? A: Traditional B: Modern C: Combine two ways D: I haven’t though it before. Male’s answers Female’s answers From this question we can see that 60% boys choose “C”, and 30% of them choose “B”，only three people choose the traditional way. This phenomenon is more clear when it comes to females. No one choose “A”! and 22 females(53.7%) choose “C”, 12 girls(29.3%) choose “B”, this is the same as boys.
