Ab str act:Thispaper reports anovelnon- ionicvisoelastic surfactant- based self- diverting acid SDA-
SL. The viscocity of its fresh acidwas about 20mPa# s, and varied in the acid concentration range of
21% ~ 10% . The property and mechanism for its viscosity change were different from those self-
diverting acid system reported in the literature. The corrosion inhibitorWWD- 2 showed no significant
effect to the viscosity ofthe acid sysetem and the corrosion rate canmeetLevel2 ofthe SY/T5405.
