The theoretical and experimental study was performed on the influence of viscosity effects on photoacoustic generation. We provide evidence that the frequency spectrum of photoacoustic signal is precisely related to the viscosity. Measurements are validated on different water–glycerol mixtures. Good agreement between theoretical and experimental results is obtained.
