friends第一季第一集笔记 The One Where Monica Gets a New Roommate (The Pilot-The Uncut Version) 关于TOW，实际上是是the one with... 或者the one where,或者the one which...的意思。 关于Pilot 和 central perk，lavanew的笔记中写到： 第一集是试播（Pilot），所谓pilot就是如果播的不好，立马cancel的那种，所以无论剧情语言还有表演都非常精彩，这一集里面六个人都露面了，我立马就喜欢上了一脸坏笑的Joey(嘿嘿，一看就是我这种类型嘛)，憨憨厚厚的Ross, 未经世事的Rach, 直爽坦白的商贩Chandler,成熟而又略带神经质的Monica,以及童趣无邪的Phoebe…. 关于central perk: 关于Central Perk，好像在友坛上已经有过了。我实在记不起来在哪里看过。最近问了个美国的老友fan，据她说只是编剧对纽约“central park”的戏称，同时这是个咖啡店的名字，咖啡提神，perk有变得突然振奋、兴奋之义，所以就成了central perk. 她本人居然也有个小coffeehouse，叫central perk，羡呀！ perk也是percolate的简写，percolate ：water pass slowly through coffee. [Scene: Central Perk, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, and Monica are there.] Monica: There’s nothing to tell! He’s just some guy I work with! 没有什么好说的嘛，他只是我的同事！ nothing是个最常用的词，口语至宝。例句如下：There’s nothing I can do for you! There’s nothing wrong! Joey: C’mon, you’re going out with the guy! There’s gotta be something wrong with him! 这句话是Joey挖苦Monica的话，是说这个人（paul）居然和Monica出去约会，一定是有什么毛病的。这句话里going out with someone意思是having a date with someone。还有gotta其实就是have got to的意思，类似的还有gonna=going to；wanna=wanta=want to； Chandler: All right Joey, be nice.? So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece? Phoebe: Wait, does he eat chalk? (They all stare, bemused.) Phoebe: Just, ’cause, I don’t want her to go through what I went through with Carl- oh! go through：往前走，一直穿过去，或者是通过幸福，或者是经历煎熬。 还有过海关是go through the customs,受苦就是go through the pains,隐喻肉体或者精神的炼狱。详细划分，第一表示to examine carefully,比如The professor went through the students’ papers教授已经批完了学生的作业, 第二表示to experience，比如We went through hell while working on this project我们做这个项目没少受苦，第三表示to perform, 比如Who can go through the sonata in 30 minutes?谁能在半个小时之内讲这首奏鸣曲演奏完毕？举个例子，你的朋友正在办理离婚手续，耗费大量人力物力，你感慨万千“It’s such a pain to go through”,表现对你朋友的同情。再比如，你是信任警官，跟随一位senior detective(资深侦探)去调查雨夜连环杀人案。看到你笨手笨脚的样子，侦探冷冷地说 ”I went through a case in two hours at most when I was your age, boy! ”（年轻人，我像你这么大的时候，侦破一个案件最多需要两个小时！）看着他低垂的帽檐，冷酷的棱角，你发觉自己太嫩了，不禁问道: ”But wha
