1. Enable Ss to know something about some wildlife, esp. some endangered wildlife.
2. Enhance Ss’ awareness of wildlife protection and find out ways of protection.
3. Enhance Ss’ reading skills (scanning skimming) and listening skills and practice Ss spoken English.

1. How to help Ss enhance the awareness of wildlife protection.
2. How to improve Ss’ ability of reading, listening, taking notes and speaking.
3. Cooperative learning and task-based reading.

Step 1 Lead-in warming up
Activity1: A game “challenge your memory”
T: You’ll see a series of pictures. Try to remember as many as you can while watching. After that, you’ll be asked to tell us what have you remembered one by one. Are you clear? OK. Are you ready?
S: Yes!
T: Good. Now, let’s go!
A series of beautiful pictures about wild animals is shown with music automatically.
T: Ok. They are really beautiful and lovely, right? Now, it’s your turn to show how good your memory is. S1 is the first volunteer, please.
S1, S2, S3……will give their answers one after another.
The teacher assesses Ss’ performance and then the topic would come up, that is, wildlife protection.
T: Wildlife refers to those animals or plants which live or grow in natural condition. However, beautiful and lovely though they are, some wild animals or plants are really in a poor condition.
Activity2: A video clip
After watching, Ss would be asked to tell what they have seen in the video.
S1, S2: Wild animals are killed or hunted and wild plants are cut down by human beings. / Human being’s cruelty. / The bad living environment. ……
