Step 1: Get the Ss to pronounce the new words correct them if necessary
Learn the new words one by one.
Get the whole class to read the new words.
Step 2: Warming up
1. Ask the Ss the following questions.
1). We are going to learn something about Canada in this unit. Do you know something about Canada?
2). Have you ever been to Canada?
3) .Do you like to go sightseeing in Canada?
4). Which city in Canada do you want to go?
2. If we are now planning to pay a visit to Canada, we must learn some information about Canada.
3. Finish warming up exercises in page33.
(Add some more information about Canada, such as the main city/cities: Vancouver. Calgary. Montreal. Thunder Bay)

Do exercises on page 36
Reading 1
Step 1: Lead-in
Show some pictures about Canada. Meanwhile, introduce some famous sights in Canada.
Get some Ss to tell what he/she knows about Canada.(beaver. grizzly. Lake Superior . maple. Niagara. St Lawrence River)
Step 2: First Reading
Read the passage quickly and find out the cities Li Daiyu and Liu Qian passed.
