TheSynthesisandApplicationofstarchgraft copolymerizationModifiedbyAcrylicacid AbstactInrecentyears,naturalpolymersandmodi?ednaturalpolymerhavebeen gainingincreasingimportanceintheindustry,whichpromotesin-depthstudy ofstarchmodificationtechnology.Somemainbiologicalrawmaterialsuchas starchisrelativelyinexpensive,abundant,renewableandbiodegradable.After beingmodified,itcanimprovestheoverallperformanceofstarch.Inthispaper,usingmaizestarchasrawmaterial, ammoniaum persulfate-sodiumbisulfiteasinitiator,acrylicacidandcrylamideasgraft agent,triallylisocyanurate(TAIC)ascrosslink,sodiumhydroxideas neutralizer,thecornstarch-acrylicacidandacrylamidegraftsuperabsorbent polymer(SAP)ispreparedbysolutionpolymerizationmethods.Ammoniaum persulfate-sodiumbisulfateisainitiatorwithhighefficiency and reproducibility.Inthereaction,thereisnodramaticchangesintemperature, whichiseasiertocontrolinindustrialproduction,Theisproductionprocess doesnotdemandspecialequipment,Theprocessissimple,demandsless investmentandislow-cost,TAICisacrosslinkwithbigmolecularmass,has3 Vinylandgoodcrosslinkingperformance,ThepreparedSAPhasbetterwater absorption.Firstly,preparationofprocessconditionstothe corn starch-acrylic acid graftsuperabsorbentpolymerisstudied.Thesingle-factorexperimentswere usedtostudytheeffectofstarchslurrytime,starchslurrytemperature,the ammontofinitiator,agent,crosslinkonwaterabsorptionofSuperAbsorbent Resin.Onthebasisoftheexperiments,thefourfactorsandfivelevels orthogonal experimentwasusedto decidetheoptimumreactioncondition, Throughthe singlefactorexperiment,the factorsthathadimportantly influencedonwaterabsorptionwere mainly investigated, including the ammontofinitiatorandagent,theproportionofagent,theammontof crosslink,neutralizationdegree.Thebestsynthesisprocessisasfollows:the proportionofAA/AM8,initiatorforstarch 3%,theproportionofagent to starch10,crosslinkforstarch0.3%,neutralizationdegree90%.Secondly,performanceanalysisofthecornstarch-acrylicacidand acrylamidegraftedsuperabsorbent p
