Words：influence，government，found，treat，badly，behaviour Expressions：be similar to，bring up，from state to state，come from，become famous for 3．To help the students master the way of describing one great person of ancient China. 4．To help the students know the general idea and the structure of the passage by scanning and skimming. Process and methods 1．To encourage the students to take an active part in the learning activities by giving them clear instructions on what to do while reading a new passage. In addition，correct possible mistakes they might make in a proper way by making necessary changes while repeating their sentences. 2．To encourage the students to cooperate with the others by working in pairs or in groups of four. 3．To make sure that the students pay attention to the important points by asking them to repeat some of the statements made by both the teacher and other students.
