Module 5 Great People and Great Inventions of Ancient China Reading and vocabulary 整体设计 教学内容分析    Reading and vocabulary是本模块主要的精读材料。该部分介绍了中国古代三位思想家以及他们的学说。通过完成与课本内容和词汇有关的练习,学生可以熟悉课文内容和学会使用与课文内容有关的词汇。学生可以通过在文章当中学到的词汇和句子来描述一位中国历史上的伟大人物。培养学生速读获取大意,细读获取细节信息的能力。读后活动深化学生对文章的理解,有助于全面把握有效信息。 三维目标设计  Knowledge and skills 1.To help the students learn the following words and expression. Words:order,principle,position,stress,resign,adviser,influential,love Expression:be at war with 2.To help the students revise the following words and expressions. Words:influence,government,found,treat,badly,behaviour Expressions:be similar to,bring up,from state to state,come from,become famous for 3.To help the students master the way of describing one great person of ancient China. 4.To help the students know the general idea and the structure of the passage by scanning and skimming. Process and methods 1.To encourage the students to take an active part in the learning activities by giving them clear instructions on what to do while reading a new passage. In addition,correct possible mistakes they might make in a proper way by making necessary changes while repeating their sentences. 2.To encourage the students to cooperate with the others by working in pairs or in groups of four. 3.To make sure that the students pay attention to the important points by asking them to repeat some of the statements made by both the teacher and other students. Emotion,attitude and value 1.To help the students enlarge the knowledge of great people and great inventions of ancient China. 2.To help the students raise the awareness of loving the great achievements in culture made by great people of ancient China. 3.To help the students appreciate the advantage of cooperative learning. 教学重点    1.To help the students learn to read a passage in a proper way and improve their ability of skimming and scanning. 2.To help the students learn to organise their own sentences to describe one great person of anc
