Abstract With intensive exchanges of cultures between east and west, talk shows have flooded to China as good entertaining and learning materials for Chinese audience. This paper adopts consecutive interpretation of “Oprah Winfrey Show US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama” as a case study and analyzes the application of Skopos Theory to consecutive interpretation of interviews. The fast-speed language of this interview is colloquial, politically-related and carries plenty
