非谓语动词. 做状语的区别:
不定式作状语
1. 表示目的
It was too noisy. Corrie had to shout to make himself heard above the sound of the music.
He got up early so as to (in order to) catch the first train.
In order to get the autograph of the famous pianist, they crowded at the gate of the theater.
注意: 如果不定式作状语,并放于句首, 一定表示目的.
To welcome Corrie’s coming back, she wears her most beautiful dress.
表示原因
I am so sorry to hear about the failure in business.
She was so excited to see Corrie, for it had been about ten years since they left each other.
She burst into laughter to see his funny action.
表示条件
To look at him you would like him.= If you have a look at him, you would like him.
表示结果常用only to (结果却发现), too… to, (not) enough… to… 等短语
He hurried to the station only to find the train had left.
He was too excited to say a word.

不定式作表语词的状语(和句子的主语为逻辑上的动宾关系, 省略了for sb.)

分词作状语
1. 分词作状语的形式
形式 意义 1) doing
与句中主语构成逻辑上的主谓关系, 与句中的动词同时发生或基本同时发生 2) having done
与句中的主语构成逻辑上的主谓关系, 先于句中动词发生 3) done 与句中主语构成逻辑上的动宾关系 4) being done
与句中主语为逻辑上的动宾关系, 与谓语动词同时发生, 一般做原因状语放于句首 5) having been done
在句中与主语为逻辑上的动宾关系, 先于谓语动词发生 2. 分词作状语的原则
1). 分词的逻辑主语必须和句子的主语保持一致.
2). 分词作状语时必须与句子主语存在主谓或动宾关系.
例句:
1). Reading the letter written by Corrie, she was moved to tears.
When she was reading the letter written by Corrie, she was moved to tears.
2). Having struggled for months to find a job as a waitress, Susan finally got a position in an advertisement agency.
After she had struggled for months to find a job as a waitress, Susan finally got a position in an advertisement agency.
3). Asked if he had any bad habits, he replied he was a heavy smoker.
