AbstractThrough analyzing the researching and developing states of Welding CAPP System in and abroad, the existing problems in the using systems, this paper developed a Resistance Welding CAPP System with Software Engineering ideas, Object-Oriented and Database techniques, combined with the real process of resistance welding designing and referred to relevant standards in an aviation manufacturing factory.Based on sufficiency surveying and proverbially communicating with the engineers in the factory, the function requirements and operating styles of the system were fixed, and it decided to adopt the C/S mode pattern to the system.According to collect, pack up and analyze of data, diagrams, standards and experiments of Resistance Welding processing designing widely referenced in the factory, the E-R models of materials, spot and seam welding process designing were established. The model of the Resistance CAPP System database was achieved in using Power Designer modeling software, and the database is implemented in Oracle 10g Database Management System.The system model was gained in use case, static and dynamic model with the UML modeling language and Rational Rose modeling tool. According to the achieved models, the Resistance Welding CAPP System was developed on the platform of Windows XP Operating System with Visual C++6.0, combined with Oracle 10g, based on the C/S system structure.The system provides three approaches to resistance spot welding process design as following: determines the process parameters by querying the existence Welding Process Database; designs the process parameters through design wizards that the system provides; acquires the process parameters via interacting with the system. The wizard and intelligent function greatly easy the user operating the system, and the simplified designing process advanced the speed and efficiency of resistance welding process designing.Key words: Resistance Welding CAPP System, E-R model, UML model, procedure des
