TheStudyonApplicationofShaanxiPapercutting inModemArtDesignSpecialty:ArtdesignPostgraduate:YajieZhangAdviser:YingHuangABSTRACTPapercuttingisatypicalartformofChinesefolkart,whichhaslonghistory,hasbeenverypopularamongtheordinarypeopleinmanyareasofChina.PapercuttinghasvariousstylesindifferentpartsofChina.Papercuttingshavebeenusedasdecorationssincetheancientages, andbelovedbypeoplenotonlybecauseoftheyareeasytomakebutalsobecauseofthattheyrepresentthegreatChinesetraditionalculture.AspapercuttingisourIntangibleCulturalHeritage,weshouldnotonlydotheprotectionandinheritancework,butalsododeepresearchon howtoapplyitinmodernartdesign,expandingthediversifieddevelopmentofpapercutting,tocomposethespiritoftraditionalcultureofChineseandmoderndesignlanguage.Lookingforapointofpenetrationwhichisrelatedtothemodernartinthetraditionalfolkartisanurgentproblemthatworthyofourseriousconsiderationandpractice.So,whatweshouldthinkaboutmostlyishowtokeeppapercuttingcurrentwiththetimesanditsregionalproperty.Thispapertriestoexploretherichcultural connotationinthepapercutting,combineitwiththecontemporaryeradesign,providethetheorybasisfortheartdesignwhichhasrichculturalconnotation,andsummarizetheexistingtopicsandapplicationsofpapercutting,andintegratesonthebasisofmoderndesignstyleaswellasthefiveelementsconceptsandartofpapercutting,expandsthediversifiedtopicsofpapercutting,tomakepapercuttingmoremodernandavant-garde.Thispapercanbeatheoreticalreferenceforthepapercuttingintheprogressofinheritanceanddevelopment.Inaddition,itpromotestheimpartationofpapercuttinghandicraftfromtraditionalsinglemasterapprenticemannertotheclassroom,sothatthedevelopmentofpapercuttingismorefar-reaching.Papercuttingscontainthewisdomandbestwishesofworkingpeople andtheyare great treasurebecauseoftheirnon-reproducibility.Thispaperprovides anoverviewofShaanxipapercuttingclassification,characteristicsandaesthetictaste,analyzestheconnotationofChinese traditionalcultureinpapercutting,discusses thefusionoffolkpapercuttingandmodernartdesign
