SING “ONE, TWO, TIE MY SHOE” Teach the song line by line, showing the actions for each line. DRILL Review in, on and under. For example, write the words on the board and say them with the students. Review the names of colours with your colour poster. With objects or a flannel board, lead the class through a question-and-answer drill such as: Teacher: (Put a book on a chair.) Look. Is the book on the chair or under the chair? Class: The book is on the chair. Teacher: What colour is the book? Class: __ (colour)/It’s Teacher: (Hold up a marker.) What colour is this? Class: __ (colour)/It is ___. Teacher: (Put the marker in a desk.) Where is the marker? Class: The marker is in the desk. Teacher: Point to/Show me something __ (colour). Class: (Point to an object of the correct colour.) ACTIVITY BOOK: L15 N1 This exercise reviews colours, but you can assign it as homework if you do not want to do it in class. New Concepts 1. Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz. STUDENT BOOK: L15 N1 Review the letters the class has already learned. Introduce the new letters and explain that these are the last letters of the alphabet. For example, point to each picture as you say the letter and then the word it goes with. Emphasize the beginning sound of each word and get the students to say the sounds with you. Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books. ACTIVITY BOOK: L15 N2 In this exercise, the students practice writing the letters. On the blackboard, show them how to make each letter and ask them to write them in the air as you work. 2. Favourite. DEMONSTRATE Use actions and facial expressions to show your students the meaning of favourite as you say phrases such as: My favourite colour is __. __ is my favourite. My favourite. My favourite book is __. (Pretend to read.) My favourite food is __. (Pretend to eat.) I
