Unit Five Do you like science?第二课时 TEACHING AIMS: students can talk about and express likes\dislikes, talk about school subjects TEACHING KEY: to help students to comprehend Conversation and vocabulary, target TEACHING AIDS: pictures, tape and some transparencies TEACHING PERIOD: the second period PROCEDURES: Practice 1 Getting ready Point to the pictures. ? T: what subjects are these? (Point to the music and P.E. picture under number 1.) [Ss: music and P.E.] ? T: read the sentence. [Ss: I like music and P.E.] ? Ask various Ss to identify one or two pictures from each number and read the sentences. Using the book ? T: ok, class. Let’s listen to the tape. ? Play the tape for number 1, then pause. ? T: what subjects does the boy like? Is it music and art? [Ss: no, he likes music and P.E.] ? While Ss and responding, make a circle motion around the sentence I like music and P.E. ? T: circle the answer. ? Continue with the rest. Extension activity TB p.54 Practice2 Getting ready ? Hold up the stack of picture cards 25-31, with one card showing. Point to one student. ? T: do you like (science)? [s1: yes, I do./no, I don’t] ? Pass the cards to s1. s1 then chooses a new card and asks s2 do you like (math)? ? S2 answers the question, then takes the cards, selects a new card and asks a question of a third student. Using the book ? T: Now, read the questions and answer. ? Have Ss read the questions together. ? Ask individual Ss to answer. ? Put Ss into small groups to ask and answer the questions. Extension activity TB p.54 Song Getting ready ? Point to the pictures. ? T: I like …. (Point to the science book.) [Ss: I like science.] ? Continue with the other pictures. ? Have Ss read the lyrics together. Using the book ? T: let’s sign the song! Let’s listen to the tape first. ? Play the tape and point to each word as it is sung. ? Hand out the picture cards to various Ss. ? Sign the song as a whole group again. When the Ss with picture cards hear words, they hold up their car
