AbstractRapidInvestmentCasting(RIC)isveryusefultechnologytofabricatecomplexmetalcastings.Itrealizestheshiftformrapidprototypingtorapidmanufacturingby combinesSelectiveLaserSintering(SLS)withinvestmentcasting,hasabroadapplicationprospect.DinensinalaccuracyisthekeytoRICtechnology,butRICismultisteptechnology,thedimensionsofpartspassingthroughseveralsteps,andtherearemanyfactorswhichinfluencingthedinensinalaccuracyofpartsanditishardtocontrol.ThereissignificantacademicvalueandpracticalmeaningtostudythedimensionalaccuracyandtransitivelawsofdimensionsofRIC.IntermsofdinensinalaccuracyofSLS,experimentwereimplementedunderdifferentpartorientation,differentlaserpoweranddiffererntlayerthickness.Dimensionsofsampleweremeasured.Theresultsshow:thereisrelativehighdimensionaccuracywhendimensionsparalleltoXYaxisbecausethereisnoinfluenceofstepeffect.Thedimensionerroris0.67%;DimensionsofSLSprototypeincreasefirstandthendecreasewithincreasingofpartorientationwhenthedimensionsarenotparalleltoXYaxis.Peakvalueofdimensionerroroccurswhenthepartorientationis60 degree,andthepeakvalueis1.78%,becausethestepeffectismostsignificant.ItcanbeseenthattrytokeepimportantdimensionsparalleltoXYaxisisnecessary.DewaxingandroastingprocessisveryimportantinRICtechnologyandwillinfluencethedinensinalaccuracyof shell.Intermsofdewaxingandroastingprocessof RICtechnology,experimentswereimplementedunderfourdifferentdewaxingtemperatureandtime.Theresultsshow:therearemoreoutflowsofSLSpatternwithhighdewaxingtemperature,buttheshelliseasytocrackwhendewaxingtemperatureistoohigh,thebestdewaxingtemperatureis250℃,theSLSpatternoutflowrateis94.28%underthistemperature;Theoptimaldewaxingtimeis100min.theshellisnoteasytocrackwithhighheatingrate;inroastingprocess,itisbettertoheatpreservationfor 2 hours at 400℃, then heating to 800℃after SLS pattern is completedecomposition,inordertopreventresidualpatternburningintheshellcauseshellcracking.IntermsofresearchondimensionaltransitivelawsofRICtechnology,fivekindsofshellswerefabricatedbasedonRI
