AbstractAbstractParallelprocessingtechniquedealswithmanyaspects.Itincludeshardware technique,parallelarchitectures,paralleloperatingsystem,parallellanguages, parallelcompiler,parallelsoftware,parallelalgorithm,etc. But thecurrentinternational situationisthatthedevelopmentofparallelalgorithmis farmorebehindother architectures.Themostdominatingappearancesarethelacksofcorresponding software,therationaldistributingoftasks,thecommunicationsandthe synchronization.Becausethenumberofdatainimagedisposalprocessingisverylarge,andthe existenceofmanyconvolutionoperationsandmatrixmultiplicationoperationsinall kindsofalgorithms,itispossiblethat parallel algorithmdesignandapplicationcan be used in image disposalprocessing.Imageedgeisoneofthemostfundamentalandsignificantfeatures.Edgedetectionis alwaysoneofthemostclassicalstudyingprojectsofcomputervisionandimage processingfield. The fiststepofimageanalysisandunderstandingisedgedetection. Thegoalofedgedetectionistorecoverinformationaboutshapesandreflectanceor transmittanceinanimage.Itisoneofthefundamentalstepsinimageprocessing, mageanalysis,imagepatterrecognition,andcomputervision,aswellasinhuman vision.Thecorrectnessandreliabilityofitsresultsaffectdirectlythecomprehension which machine systemmakeforobjective world.Firstly,theclassicmethodsofimageedgedetectionareintroduced,including differential coefficientwhich are Roberts image edge detection, Sobel edge detection, andPrewitt,Robinson,Kirschimageedgedetection,andsecond-orderdifferential coefficientwhichareLaplacianedgedetectionandLOGedgedetection.Finally analyzed the experiment results of thesemethodsapplicationonapicture.Secondly,accordingtoacaseofKirsch-filter,themethodofreducingcomputingstep oflinear filterisintroducedanddiscussed.Thecomplexity ofimprovedmethodishalf ofthe ruralone.Itproves that the improvingeffect is obviously.Atlast,parallelalgorithmdesignisresearchedandappliedtoimageedgedetection, somegoodresultsaregainedcorrespondinglyonasimulationclustersystem.Atthe sametime
