ABSTRACT
Company C, set up in the late 19th century in the United States, is a world-famous production corporation that mainly produces frequency control components and automobile electronic components. Its products are widely applied to network, communications, health care, automotive manufacturing and other fields. Its major clients include MOTOROLA, CISCO, HP, NOKIA, Huawei, ZTE, PHILIP, and TOYOTA and so on. Company C have owned a number of branch factories and offices in China, and has thousands of employees so far. However, confronting with the situation where has increasingly fierce competition of electronics industry, smaller profit margins, more diversified market demands, and the influence of global economic crisis, traditional production management couldn’t to meet the production needs. Therefore, production-manufacturing systems should be significantly improved in terms of customer satisfaction, productivity, inventory costs, quality, delivery time, etc, so as to adapt to the requirements of competition.
This paper describes the author analyses the production management and products quality status of XL with the guidance of IE, lean production, Six Sigma management theory or methods. And found numerous problems in the production layout, inventory, line balance, throughput yield and so on by analyzing with existing VSM (Value Stream Mapping). Improvement plan could be determined and then implemented through drawing VSM of future manufacturing process. It dominantly includes: analyses the process flow of product, uses ECRS principle and 5W1H methods to simplify and improve operating and methods, eliminate or reduce unnecessary transportation and delay time during the process. Through improving manufacturing process flow, the non-value added motions were massived, so the
operating time has shortened for 34.9%,increased productivity 24.1%. In addition, the
