After this Lesson, students are able to
1. talk about animal attributes as well as sb’s personality and character
2. improve their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing
3. enhance their love for Chinese culture and become a useful person
Teaching Point Difficulty: Talking about personality and character
Teaching Aids: A recorder, Multi-media equipment
Teaching Procedure:
Warming-up and lead-in:
Enjoy a flash song about animals
Aim:
to arouse the students with the interest in learning English Pre-task:
1. Guess riddles about twelve animals
Have a competition
3. A check-up on the words and expressions self- learning Aim:
1. to help the students step into the text by guessing riddles and having a competition
2. to check the words the students have previewed While-task: practice on the text
1. Listen and answer the questions
Act out the text
3. Complete an e-mail
Aims:
1. to help the students understand the main ideas of the text
2. to improve the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing Post task:
1. work in pairs: make up dialogues according to the model
2. Have a discussion in groups: It is said“ A man’s own character shape his fortune”. As a middle school student, what character is the most important for you?
Aims:
to encourage the students to communicate with each other
to develop the students ability of co-operation
Conclusion
Assignment:
1. Read and recite the text
2. Conduct a survey among your friends and family members and write six to eight sentences about what animal he or she is. Aims:
to have the students know more information about animal attributes as well as sb’s personality and character by investigating
