AbstractSoftStarterisakindofequipmentwhichisusedtocontrolthemotorstartingandrealizethemotorsmoothlystart.Softstartercanreducelargecurrentimpactonthegridduringthemotorstartupandincreasemotorlife.Thereforethemotorsoftstartersareappliedtoindustrialcontrolfieldextensively.Fieldbusautomationcontroltechnologyasanintegralparthasbecomeanimportantwayofindustrialcontrol.Thelastdecade,withthevarioustypesoffieldbusprotocoldevelopment,fieldbusproductsarelaunched.Comparedwithotherprotocols,DeviceNet,CANopen,MODBUS,PROFIBUS-DParewidelyused.Currently,thenumberofsoftstarterproductswithcommunicationinterfaceisrelativelysmall.Andmostly,theyhavesinglefieldbusinterface,andcanonlyaccesstoakindoffieldbusnetwork.Giventhedemandfordifferenttypesoffieldbusproductsandtheactualconditionofindustrialfield,thistopicdesignsakindofsoftstartercommunicationinterfacebasedonmulti-protocoloffieldbus.Thecommunicationinterfacecanrealizethethreekindsofcommunicationprotocols,DeviceNet,CANopenandMODBUS.Andthecommunicationinterfacecanaccesstothecorrespondingnetworkandachievefunctionofnetworkcontrol.Communicationinterfaceofsoft-startbasedonmulti-protocolforthepromotionofthedevelopmentofthesoftstarterissignificant.Firstly,thispaperintroducestheDeviceNet,CANopenandMODBUSfieldbusprotocol.Thencombinedwiththesoftstarter,thesystemhardwaredesignschemeisproposed.TheframeworkconsistsofSCMwithintegratedCANcontroller,CANbustransceiver,RS485drive.STM32F103C8T6+CTM1050+MAX3485asthecoreofthesystemhardwaredesignsolutionshavebeenproposed.Softwaredesignsolutionisproposedforsoftstartercommunicationinterface.ThreekindsofprotocolstackaretransplantedtoSTM32microcontroller.Howeverinaspectofimprovingreliabilityofcommunicationinterface,thespecificsolutionsofdatasecurityanddealingwithnetworkbreakdownisproposed.Andcorrespondingnetworkcommunicationfunctioncanbechieved.Finally,thesoftstartercommunicationinterfacelaboratoryexperimentandfieldexperimentarecompleted.Inthelaboratory,DeviceNet,CANopen,MODBUSnetworkexperimentalplatformwassetup.N
