AbstractWith the dramatical increase in population and the rapid development of economy and society, land resource was largely demand, the supply and demand of land gradually shows imbalanced state, which seriously affects the sustainable utilization of land resources. Land supply and demand balance is the core content of general land-using plan and is also the key to realise sustainable land use.Gaotai county in Hexi corridor oasis，desert–oasis is the main landscape features.Dry climate, fragile natural environment and improper land uses, not only deamage the ecological environmental but also caused more restraint in the land resource which human survives. In addition, as a nationa l defence county in Gansu province and the main commodity grain base, cultivated land resources, especially basic farmland has very important strategic, national basic farmland, basic grassland protection policy, strong constraint of land conversion betwee n not exist completely elastic; How to balance all kinds of lands, realize the sustainable utilization of land resources, the present and the future defence county is long-terms challenge. Therefore, as commodity grain base to develop the land use stronghold counties in the supply and demand balance research has important realistic significance for similar, simultaneously also may provide reference for the research area.This study applies to the sustainable utilization theories, such as coordinationtheory of land use planning theory, combined with the existing land supply and demand balance analysis based on research and practice of land supply and demand balance, stronghold counties analyzed systematically land supply and demand that potential, focusing on quantitative relationship between the land supply and demand balance coordinate county, in order to realize the sustainable utilization of land resources.
