AbstractThewedgemechanismisoneofthecommonlyimportantautomotivepaneldieworkingrange,asadirectproductwhichtrimming,flangingstampingtheworkingparts.Thekeyofthesuccessoftheautomotivepanelformingiswhetherthedesignmentisreasonable,it’salsoaessentialcontentanddifficultyofthedesignment.ThetraditionalWedgemechanismdesignneedsdesignersengagedinthepracticeforalongtimetogainenoughexperienceofdesign.However,theshortcomingofthistypeareasfollows:complexanalysiscalculate,loweffectofthedesign,poorreliability,highdemandofrepeatablemodificationanddisabilitytosatisfythedemandofmarket.Thispaper,basedonthetraditionalCADtheory,creativelyintroducesthetheoryoftemplatetechnologyandvariantdesigntostudythekeytechnologyofrapidlyintelligentdesignofautomotivepanelwedgemechanism.First,analyzesthetypicalstructureandkinematicalrelationshipofthewedgemechanismsbasedonthetraditionalconstructionprocessofgeneraltemplate,usesassemblymodelingmethodwhichisbasedonthecombinationofskeletonmodelanddominantcomponentstoestablishparameterizedtemplatesforWedgemechanisms,tothosestructurewhichcannotbetheeffectiveparametricmodeled,usetheideaofthethreenoesabstracttobuildthemodelofthem.Then,basedonthecharacteristicsofwedgemechanismitself,studyofthekeytechnologywhichisaimedtoachieverapidvariantdesignfromthreeperspective.accordingtoWedgeinstitutions,akeytechnologytoachieveitsrapidvariantdesign.Usemodelcharacteristic,restrainandreleaseoftheparttoachievethevariantdesignofwedgemechanism;useUG/WAVEtechnologytoachievetherelationaldesignofgeometricmodeling;useBOMtechnologyastheconnectortoachievetheflexibleinvocationofenterprisingnon-parametricstandardizedcomponentaswellastheintelligentselectionandassemblyofstandardizedcomponentwhichisbasedonthecombinationofexpertiseknowledgeandexperienceofsuccess.Finally,combinedwiththerealdemandsofenterprise,developsadesignsystemofvariantdesignofwedgemechanisminUG-NX4.0.Itcouldbeveryconvenienttoachievethedesignandmodificationofcommonlyusedwedgemechanism.Assemblesalargeamountofdesignstandard,ex
