AbstractThesocial networkanalysisoriginatedinthe1930s,wasevolvedfrompsychology, sociologyandanthropology.Initially,itwasusedtostudytherealrelationshipbetween peopleinsociety.Astimegoesby,manyscholarsdedicatedtothestudyofsocial network analysis so thatsocial network analysis has been continuouslydeveloped. Especiallyfromthe1930stothelate1970s,HarvardUniversityandtheUniversityof Manchesterhavemadeasignificantcontributiontothedevelopmentofsocialnetwork analysis,sothatsocialnetworkanalysishasawiderangeofstudyobjects,suchas countries,cities,communities,schools,etc.Allofthesecanbecometheobjectofstudy ofsocialnetworkanalysis.Inrecentyears,withtherapiddevelopmentofcomputer technology,theapplicationofsocialnetworkanalysisisincreasinglybeingused, already extendedtoinformationscience,andalmostallareasofhumanactivities, resultingin a growinginfluence.Inthisthesis,wefirstlydescribesocialnetworkanalysisindetails,includingits basicconcepts,researchmethodsandviewofanalysis,aswellasitsgeneralstepsof analysis.Then,weselectthesleepylizard,whichlivesintheAustralian,asanobjectto study.ThedatasetisprovidedbyStephanT.LeuetcofAustralia’sFlindersUniversity. Throughalong-termobservationofsleepylizardgroups,theyrecordinformationon sleepylizards’activities usingthedevice attachedto thetail ofeverysleepylizard.After dealingwiththecollectedinformation,weanalyzethedisciplineofrangeofactivities andactivitytimeofthispopulation.Then,webuildthesocialnetworkmodelbasedon whethertwoactivesleepylizardscontactwitheachotherornot.Then,weusesocial networkanalysistoanalyzethemembers’statusandtherelationshipbetweenthe members ofthepopulation and population’s statuses of life.Atlast,wedescribetheKNNalgorithmanditsadvantagesanddisadvantagesin details.Next,weintroducethemainideasandstepsofseveralimprovedKNN algorithms,andfirstlyadoptKNNalgorithmtoanalyzeandverifythesleepylizards’ characteristicsofpairliving,combinedwiththeknowngenderinformationofsleepy lizards,drawaconclusion:sleepylizards’statusesoflifeispairliv
