Business contract also becomes an effective tool which can supervise economic entities fulfilling its obligation and protect their rights and interests, especially in English business contracts. Since China joined the World Trade Organization, the relationship between China and others countries is getting more and more harmonious. Chinese business people in growing number have a chance to get in touch with business contracts. However, a lot of business people don’t have a profound understanding on business contracts which is a legal document, and they don’t have a good command for language features. In addition to the cross-cultural differences, there are many problems about business contracts understanding and writing. In order to promote the business communication of the economic entities between China and other countries and use the law form to safeguard their own legal rights and interests. In this paper we will talk the language features of English business contracts from the three aspects of vocabulary, phrase, sentence, through comparison of a large number of examples. Studying the language features of business English contracts can make us communicate and write contracts effectively in foreign trade activities.
