AbstractNoteonsetdetectionisthebasicproblemofmusicsignalanalysisandprocessing.ItisthekeyofContent-BasedAudioInformationRetrieval,especiallyforQueryByHumming.TheaccuracyoftheonsetdetectionforeachnoteaffecttheaccuracyofContent-BasedAudioInformationRetrievalsysteminlargely.Noteonsetdetectiontechniquesmostlylearnspeechend-pointdetectiontechnology.Firstly,itintroducestheresearchbackgroundandsignificanceofnoteonsetdetectioncomprehensively,summarizesfourstepsofthisdetectionsystem:pre-processing,featureextraction,selectionfeatureequation,peak-picking.Secondly,itintroducesseveralclassicalalgorithms,andanalyzestheiradvantagesanddisadvantages.Lastly,itputsforwardamoreeffective,newnotedetectionalgorithm—noteonsetdetectionbasedonConstantQtransform.OnthebasicofConstantQTransform,usingthespectralenergyandsub-bandspectralentropytodetectthenote,calculationthedistanceofnotes,lastusinghierarchicalmethodtooptimizethedetectionfunction.Inaudiosignalprocessing,inordertoobservethetimepositionofthehighfrequencyphenomenon,weshouldusethenarrowtime-domainwindow;Inordertounderstandthelowfrequencyphenomenon,weshouldusethewidetime-domainwindow;ShorttimeFouriertransformalwaysusethesamelengthofthewindow,theConstantQTransformisabletoautomaticallyadjustthewindowlength.ThispaperisonbasicofConstantQTransform,it‘sspectralenergycanreactionthechangeswell,butforthe―soft‖notesofmusicsignal,it‘sspectralenergydon‘thavesignificantlychanges,Spectralentropyisrelatedtotherandomnessofthemusicsignal,itisregardlessoftheamplitudeofthesignal,the?soft‘note‘sspectralentropyisnotnecessarilysmall,justtomakeupforthedrawbackofthemethodofspectralenergy.Sub-bandspectralentropyisnotonlyinheritedtheadvantagesofspectralentropy,butalsohavecertainresist-noiseperformance.Inthispaper,thetwocharacteristicparametersofthespectralenergyandsub-bandspectralentropyaremultiplied,thenotesonsetdetectionoftimeismoreaccurate.Finally,anewoptimizationdetectionfunction-hierarchicalmethod,tooptimizethedetectionfunction,thiscanmakethepeaksmoreobviou
