AbstractInternational freight forwarder industry is greatly influenced by world economy in terms of its development and trend. In particular, the traditional forwarders in China develop with great difficulty along with the China’s involvement in globalization. Based on this background, this paper analyzes the trend of international freight forwarders, the potential risks in transmission to TPL as well as the solutions against them. Specifically, HT International Transportation Forwarder Company (hereinafter referred to as H Company) is the case analysis in this thesis, in which difficulties in operation of H Company are firstly presented with regards of declined competitiveness, substituted services offered and disordered market as well as deceased profits to indicate the necessity of its transmission. Then theories related with forwarders and forwarders’ transmission to TPL (Third Party Logistics) are discussed and thus concludes difficulties H Company meets with. The paper, thereafter, adopts SWOT analysis method to penetrate H Company in aspects of strengthens, weaknesses, opportunities and treats and to see on the one hand, its major problems such as business concentration, overseas market exploration and alliance with professions in forwarders, and underlying risks in freight collection, customers and talents outflow on the other hand. At the end of this paper, some suggestions are proposed accordingly for reference of H Company.
