AbstractThereisagrowingawarenessinbothacademicandpracticalfieldthatindividualcreativebehaviorisofgreatsignificanceforacompany’sprogressandsustainabledevelopment.Andhowtomotivateandfacilitateemployee’screativebehaviorwithappropriatemethodisacrucialissueforustoexplore.Asthegeneralmethodtomotivateemployee,compensationmayhaveimportantinfluenceonemployee’sbehavior.Therefore,exploringtherelationshipbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandindividualcreativebehaviorandthemoderationmechanismisbecominganessentialresearchtopic.Inthiscontextthisstudytriestoexploretherelationshipbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandindividualcreativebehaviorbasedonworkplacesettings.Meanwhilewetakestatuscompetitivemotivationandcreativeself-efficiencyasimportantmoderators,andattempttodiscussthemoderationmechanismofrelationshipbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandindividualcreativebehavior.Thisthesisiscomposedofsevenchapters.Chapter1isaboutIntroduction,mainlytellsussomethingabouttheresearchbackground,framework,valueandsoon.Chapter2isaboutLiteratureReview.Wewillmakeareviewandsortwithsomeextantstudiesinaparticularvein,whicharerelevanttothetopicofdirectrelationshipsbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandindividualcreativebehavior,andtheirmoderationmechanisms.Chapter3,ModelandHypothesis,presentstheprocessofhypothesisreasoningintheory.Chapter4isaboutStudydesignandDataCollection.Inthischapter,wewillintroducetheprocessofconductingourfieldstudy,variablemeasuring,datapurringandtheanalysisofreliabilityandvalidity.Chapter5isaboutDataanalysisandResults.Adataanalysisfromthesampleof186employeesinvariousindustriesshowsusthat:(1)ThereisacurvilinearorreversedU-shaperelationshipbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandemployeecreativebehavior;(2)Neitherstatuscompetitivemotivationorcreativeself-efficiencyplaysamoderationroleoftherelationshipbetweenvariablepaymentstrengthandemployeecreativebehavior;(3)Thereisathree-wayinteractionbetweenvariablepaymentstrength,statuscompetitivemotivationandcreativeself-efficiencyinthepredictionofindividualcreative
